What is Dextrose or D-Glucose?
Dextrose is short for d-glucose. D-Glucose is often called the most important sugar because all organisms are reliant on it in one way or another. D-Glucose is the primary sugar in the blood and is the sole energy source for the brain, kidneys, and red blood cells. Unlike candy, cola or juice, your body is able to immediately process d-glucose and is able to quickly raise your blood sugar levels.
Can I drink/eat candy, cola or juice to raise my blood sugar?
These products will bring your blood sugar up. However, since these products contain other ingredients it takes longer for your body to remove the sugars from them and will not raise your blood sugar as fast as Dex4 glucose products. Also, these products are not measured which may cause you to over-correct your low and therefore have hyperglycemia.
Should I test my blood sugar before taking Dex4 tablets?
It is always best to check your blood sugar before eating Dex4 glucose tablets to make sure your blood sugar is low. However, if you do not have a blood glucose meter readily available it is best to treat for a low blood sugar episode if you are experiencing symptoms.
Should I break the seal of the Dex4 glucose product to use it in a hurry?
To make sure you have quick access when you need it most it is recommended that you remove any food safety seals after purchase. This will enable to you have fast access when you need it most.
Should I consult my physician before using glucose?
Dex4 glucose products do not require a prescription, but you should consult with your healthcare team to determine how many carbohydrates you should take to effectively raise your low blood sugar.
Are Dex4 glucose products kosher?
Dex4 glucose products are not Kosher certified. However, they do not contain meat, fish, fowl or insect products and are not manufactured on equipment used for these purposes
Were Dex4 glucose products tested on animals?
Dex4 glucose products have never been tested on animals.
